Meet the UK & I Conference Board.

We would like to introduce the current United Kingdom and Ireland Conference board. All of them are either serving or have served in the past as a chapter president.

If you would like to contact any of them, please feel free do do so using the link below the biography of the board member you wish to contact.

Chairman ~ Graham Buxton

UKIC Chairman PhotoGraham joined Nottinghamshire Police in 1969. He transferred to the Traffic Department in Nottingham in 1976 and remained there until 1982 when he was promoted to Sergeant and returned to a section station.

He returned to the Traffic Department in 1987 as a Traffic Sergeant on the motorcycle section riding Norton Interpols, BMW K100 & K1100s and finally the Pan European ST1100. He retired in 2002.

Graham joined the Blue Knights via England I in 1991 and eventually helped to form England VI becoming President and latterly Vice-President. England VI grew successfully and later divided to form England IX.

He was appointed Chairman of the now defunct Atlantic Regional Conference (East) in 1994 and continued as Chairman of the UK Conference from its formation in 2003 and continued in that role in the UKIC following its expansion to include Ireland I.

He currently works part time as a Staff Examiner for the Institute of Advanced Motorists. He owns and rides a 2008 Harley Davidson ElectraGlide Ultra, 2006 BMW 1200GS Adventure and 1991 Honda Goldwing. He is also a member of the International Police Association.

Vice Chairman ~ Al Goold

Vice Chairman PhotoAlasdair 'Al' Goold joined Strathclyde Police as a cadet in 1976, joining the regulars in 1978. He served in uniform until transferring to the CID in 1984. In 1991 he moved to The Serious Crime Squad where he soon became part of the Surveillance Target Team as a surveillance motorcyclist. Over the next 10 years he performed this same role for various other specialist units until being stupid enough to fall through a window, cut an artery in his leg and damaging two vertebrae.

From 2002 he spent 4 years enjoying retirement and being a part time motorcycle instructor, and riding his Pan all over Europe, Ireland and the UK to Blue Knights® events. Then Ruth his wife, sent him back to work. He's currently a warranty administrator for a Honda Car dealership.

Al started riding in 1977 with a Honda 125. His various bikes have included Honda CB125, CB400/4, CB400N Superdream, Suzuki GS850, Suzuki GS550 Katana, BMW R65, R80, CBR1000, GS1100, assorted VFR's, a Fireblade, and then after his accident he discovered the joys of being a Pan Man (1 ST1100 and 2 ST1300's) and can't see himself riding anything else in the forseeable future.

He joined the Blue Knights® and England III in 2000, and became one of the founders of Scotland I in 2002. He was elected President in 2003 and served until 2006. He became Conference secretary in 2003, before becoming Vice Chairman in 2006. He was re-elected to that position in 2008.

Along with the late Jim McNulty (another Scotland I member and co-founder of COPS) Al brought COPS to the attention of the Blue Knights® which have now become the biggest supporter of that worthwhile charity.

If he has any advice to offer a member of the Blue Knights® it is:

"Go on the Law Ride at least once in your life, and remember, we got to go home at night, those we're remembering didn't. Slainte Mhath and Ride With Pride"
